MT.UT KANGRI EXPEDITION 6080 M

Date : 1 Aug - 10 Aug 2026
C0st - 66000/-(Ex leh ) (including Gst)

The Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Leh & Total Rest
Flying into 3,500m is a shock to the system. Today isn't about sightseeing; it's about hydration and
acclimatization

Day 2: Shanti Stupa Walk and acclimatization
This is your first "climb." The stairs to Shanti Stupa are a classic test. If you can reach the top without
feeling dizzy or excessively breathless, your body is adapting well. Plus, you get a panoramic view of
the Stok Range

Day 3: Leh to Rumtse (4,200m)
You’ll drive through the dramatic Indus Valley. Rumtse is the gateway to the Tso Kar basin. The
evening walk here is crucial because you are now sleeping significantly higher than Leh

Day 4: Rumtse to Rumtse Phu (4,400m)
"Phu" usually refers to the summer grazing grounds. This short drive/trek helps you transition into a
wilder, more remote environment. The evening walk here should be slow and steady "climb high,
sleep low" is the golden rule.

Day 5: Trek to Base Camp (5,200m)
This is where the expedition truly begins. You’ll leave the last remnants of vegetation behind for a world of rock and ice. Base Camp is typically situated on a glacial moraine. Hydration is vital here, as sleep becomes difficult at 5,000m+.

Day 6: Prep & Summit Push
Most of the day is spent checking gear (crampons, ice axes, gaiters) and practicing basic rope
skills if needed. You’ll eat an early dinner and try to sleep by 6:00 PM. The Summit Push begins
around midnight to ensure the snow is hard and stable for the ascent.

Day 7: The Summit (6,070m) and back to base camp (5200m)
This is an 8–12 hour round trip. You’ll navigate steep scree slopes and likely a snow-covered ridge
leading to the prayer flags at the top. You then descend all the way back to Base Camp for a well
earned night's rest.

Day 8: EXTRA day for summit considering uncertain weather in himalaya

Day 9: Trek to Rumtse phu and drive back to leh
A long descent from Base Camp to the road-head at Rumtse Phu, followed by a drive back to the
relative luxury of Leh
