MT. KILIMANJARO EXPEDITION 2026 (5,895 M)

Dates: 5 Sept – 13 Sept (9 Days)

Expedition Itinerary (Machame Route)
Day 1 (5 Sept): Arrival & Transfer to Moshi
Arrival at airport and transfer to hotel in Moshi.
Day 2 (6 Sept): Machame Gate → Machame Camp
Start trek from Machame Gate through rainforest.
Day 3 (7 Sept): Machame Camp → Shira Camp
Gradual ascent with scenic views of the Shira Plateau.
Day 4 (8 Sept): Shira → Lava Tower → Barranco Camp
Acclimatization day via Lava Tower.
Day 5 (9 Sept): Barranco Camp → Karanga Camp
Cross the famous Barranco Wall and trek to Karanga.
Day 6 (10 Sept): Karanga → Barafu → Kosovo Camp
Move to high camp for summit push preparation.
Day 7 (11 Sept): Summit Day → Mweka Camp
Early midnight summit attempt to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Descend to Mweka Camp.
Day 8 (12 Sept): Mweka Camp → Mweka Gate → Arusha
Descend and transfer to Arusha.
Day 9 (13 Sept): Departure
Optional: Those planning for safari can book return tickets for 17th Sept.


Important to Carry
Passport, VISA, Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate
Expedition balance amount & extra cash
Sleeping bag (-5°C to -10°C recommended)

Gear Checklist (Essential)
Clothing:
Down jacket, fleece, windproof jacket, thermals, trek pants, dry-fit T-shirts
Accessories:
Gloves, woolen cap, socks, sunglasses, cap, poncho
Gear:
Trekking shoes (waterproof), trekking pole, 30L daypack, duffle bag, head torch
Health & Personal:
Basic medicines (Diamox, ORS, etc.), sunscreen SPF 50, toiletries, power bank

Regular hiking practice
Running / cycling
Suryanamaskar
Stair climbing / local treks (e.g., Sinhagad Fort practice)
Note: Summit camp is planned at Kosovo for a safer and easier summit push.
