Gorakhgad is a fort that can be done easily in a day from Mumbai. Though not famous for any historical events, Gorakhgad attracts trekkers due to its inviting pinnacles, which offer good opportunities for rock-climbing. This region of Gorakhgad and Machchindragad has a dense forest cover. Fort Gorakhgad is quite small in size. It was had strategic importance during the reign of Shahaji Raje. However, no major battle is recorded to have taken place here. It was used in Shivaji Maharaj era to patrol the nearby region and was used as a stopover station during the journey to Junnar via Naneghat.

Itinerary -

1st DAY

•    10:00 PM: Gather at Shivajinagar (Pune)

•    10:30 PM: Departure to Base village (pune)

•    12:30 AM: Gather at Karjat Railway Station (Mumbai)

•    12:45 AM: Departure to Base village (Mumbai)

2nd DAY

•    04:00 AM: Reach base village and rest for an hour

•    05:00 AM: Wake up call, Get freshen up and Post briefing and instructions Start the trek 

•    7:30 AM: Reach the top (Gorakhgad), Have Breakfast 

•    09:30 AM: Explore Gorakhgad Temple,Caves,

•    11:30 AM: After some rest start descending to the base village

•    01:00 PM: Reach the base village, Change the clothes and get freshen up

•    01:30 PM: Have lunch

•    02:30 PM: Start return journey to Pune

•    09:00 PM: Reach Pune
